Feminism is a way extensive concept than it is shown or perceived by our society. Sacrilege one gender by the other won’t make you feminist or serve you an isonomy. To know the real meaning of feminism, one doesn’t have to go too far. Spring observing around you, you will get the answer.

Cradled in a Hindu brahmin family, I was observant and a part of our conventional customs and rituals. Navratri is one of the chief traditions followed in my family, and this tradition nurtured my roots of belief in feminism. Festival of Navratri is the legitimate paradigm of feminism. Navratri celebrates the endeavours made by Maa Durga, who defeated the perennial beast Mahisasur in nine days. Mahisasur got the benevolence that he cannot get defeated by any man, child or animal. Therefore, Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh created Maa Durga with their combined powers to end the ferocity, bestiality and carnage spread across the globe by Manisasur.

In these nine days, she showed the different roles of the feminine. Those attributes of ladies are maintaining the balance of peace and harmony around us even today.
